• Keeping busy

Its hard to believe that its February already.  It’s been a busy beginning of 2016, but so far all good things that are keeping me busy. Here is something you may not know about me.  When there is a big project I plan to work on, everything else seems to go on hold, especially in my mind, until that project is done.  I get through the bare basics, knowing that this project is waiting, and I never feel like I can get on with other things until this project is done.  But yet when I have time to work on the project, I don’t always do that, so things are…

  • Creativity in 2016

Do you have fun creative plans for 2016?  Are you trying something new or sticking with your tried and true craft?  As you all probably already know, I like crocheting the best.  It’s my ‘go-to’ craft because I’ve been doing it so long it’s 2nd nature to me.  But I also want to learn something new this year. I tried learning Continental knitting last year, but never had a lot of time to stick with it.  I got a video from Craftsy that teaches Continental knitting.  I watched the first part of the video last fall and I think I have the knitting down pat.  But of course I haven’t…

  • Simple Woman’s Daybook ~ 8/2

FOR Sunday August 2nd   Outside my window…Partly sunny and warm.  We are in the mid 90’s today.  But I think this will be our last day this warm.  After today we drop to the mid 80’s and it looks like we stay there for the next 10 days.  I like the mid 80’s, it’s such beautiful weather and I can do so much outside. I am thinking…About my dear Aunt Charlotte who passed away last week.  This is the 2nd of my most favorite Aunts who have passed away in the month of July.  I miss you Auntie Charlotte. I am thankful…That on Tuesday it will be cooler. …

  • Simple Woman’s Daybook ~ 6/21

FOR Sunday June 21st   Outside my window…Partly cloudy, but very green.  It’s getting pretty warm out too.  So glad Paul and Paulie put the window a/c in a few days ago.   I am thankful…That I was able to get the plants I wanted.  Remember when I brought up the article about plants helping with the toxins in the air?  Since then I wanted to get a spider plant and an aloe plant.  So hubby and I went looking for plants a few weeks ago and found a spider plant and a peace lily (which also help).  Then my mom found some aloe plants for me.  😛    …

  • Have you ever done Macrame?

I had never done it before last November, but I remember my mom having a Macrame board with her crafts and I was always so interested in it.  Not sure why, but the board and braiding like that always seemed fun.  Though I thought having to use all those straight pins to move the knots down the board would be a pain. But then last November when we were at the craft conference there was a Macrame bracelet class, so I thought I would give it a try.  I bought a smaller version of this board, and I have to say I like it a lot better. Macrame Board It’s…
