• Creative in 2016

There are few different things I want to work on this year, and being more creative in 2016 is one of them.  I’m learning a new way of knitting, I have a class to learn tatting, I want to cross stitch more and work my photography. Do you like taking taking classes for learning new crafts?  I’ve joined Craftsy and I am already taking their Continental knitting class, and I have their Tatting class waiting for me.  But I’ve also found some free, online classes for my photography.  I much prefer free.  😀  I want to start doing more things like this to relax, decompress and just rest. Right now,…

  • Creativity in 2016

Do you have fun creative plans for 2016?  Are you trying something new or sticking with your tried and true craft?  As you all probably already know, I like crocheting the best.  It’s my ‘go-to’ craft because I’ve been doing it so long it’s 2nd nature to me.  But I also want to learn something new this year. I tried learning Continental knitting last year, but never had a lot of time to stick with it.  I got a video from Craftsy that teaches Continental knitting.  I watched the first part of the video last fall and I think I have the knitting down pat.  But of course I haven’t…

  • Simple Woman’s Daybook ~ 6/21

FOR Sunday June 21st   Outside my window…Partly cloudy, but very green.  It’s getting pretty warm out too.  So glad Paul and Paulie put the window a/c in a few days ago.   I am thankful…That I was able to get the plants I wanted.  Remember when I brought up the article about plants helping with the toxins in the air?  Since then I wanted to get a spider plant and an aloe plant.  So hubby and I went looking for plants a few weeks ago and found a spider plant and a peace lily (which also help).  Then my mom found some aloe plants for me.  😛    …

  • Are you creative?

I read an article last week about adults who color and how good it is for us.  Yes, as in using a coloring book.  The article suggested that it is not only a way to be creative and use our imaginations, but it helps with our stress levels too.  I can totally agree with that statement, because I do love to color.  I have adult versions of a color by number, I’m on the second out of four pictures on that one.  And I have a straight coloring book for adults, though I want to get more.  This is the page I just finished coloring. Now personally I prefer using…

  • Current creativity

I finished working on some dish cloths last week.  I haven’t decided if they are for us, my gift box or possibly my cottage shop, but at least they are done.  🙂 I couldn’t decide what crochet project to start next, so I picked up a cross stitch project.  It’s a very simple one that I printed off the internet last year.  I had shopped with my mom during the summer and picked up all the floss I needed for it, and then it just sat.  But after ladies craft time in January, seeing some very pretty cross stitch projects it made me want to work on one again.  It’s…
