• My health is continuing to improve

I’ve talked about my surgery over the summer and the fact that I’ve been severely anemic for at least 9 months if not over a year.  I’ve just passed the 4 month mark since my surgery, and I’m blessed by my continued improvement with my health.  I still have days and times that I am exhausted and I just have to stop what I’m doing and rest, but those are becoming fewer and far between.  Sometimes I surprise myself with things I can do and not exhaust myself.  🙂 Besides feeling better, I’m starting to have more desires that seemed to have disappeared last year.  I’ve said before in my…

  • Smoothies

I’m not a big veggie person, though I am really trying to change that.  One of the ways I do try to get more veggies in me is through smoothies.  I’m not a juicer, because I like all the pulp and extra fiber with smoothies.  I had a NutriBullet from my mom, but it was getting pretty worn used day after day.  So my mom and I went out and she bought me a new blender, the Ninja, and I love it.  I’m working on new recipes and combinations, but so far, I’ve enjoyed everything I put together. I try to make a smoothie every day, it really does help…

  • Biking

I’ve mentioned before Paul and I wanted to start hiking and biking, I thought we would start hiking first, but I was wrong.  We were just looking at some used bikes at a local bike store and we found 2 at a really good price that we couldn’t pass up.  It’s the first time I’ve ever bought a bike for myself, and actually had that bike fitted for me.  The owner of the bike shop down town was great!  He really helped us pick bikes that work for us, made sure the seat and handle bars were set just for me.  We went back and forth on helmets, but decided…

  • Blessed by friends and family

As I’m coming up to my 6 week mark since my surgery, I’ve been thinking a lot about the first few days after I got home.  My family and my best friend really rallied around me and took care of me.  They made sure we had food in the house, someone always with me for the first week so I didn’t have to pick anything up myself and around in case I had issues.  Plus just being with me chatting and keeping me company.  You can’t ask for better friends and family than that.  🙂  I wish I had thought to get a picture of my mom and me.  She…

  • Health update

I have continued to heal well from my gallbladder surgery. My surgeon told me that my gallbladder probably wasn’t working properly before, which I think is true. I’ve been feeling real good since surgery, and I can eat everything I ate before, with less bloating and discomfort. Thank you Lord. My stitches are healing well, and I’m starting to do more and more of my normal routines. I’m still not carrying anything heavy, like laundry, but I am doing other things. But I also rest when I need too. The other day I did a major cabinet cleaning in the kitchen and afterward I was tired so I took a…
