• Crafting in 2017

    I have been thinking about what crafts I want to do in 2017.  I made some doilies for Paul’s mom and my parents gifts for Christmas.  They were lots of fun to make, but they seem like they will be pretty big when they are done.  I’m using this pattern here, and I only finished it half way because it was already the size I wanted.  But I think this year I’m going to try and make at least one full size.  But it does seem pretty big full sized, guess we’ll just see how it goes.  🙂 I plan on getting out more and take more outdoor photos.  Right…

  • Parade of Lights

    We went to our towns Parade of Lights this past weekend.  I didn’t bring my good camera, but tried to get a few photos with my cell phone.  🙁  That didn’t work out the best, but I did get one half way decent photo.  We hope to make carnival of lights later in December.  It’s a big park in our town that has lots of metal decorations with Christmas lights on them.  You drive through the park looking at all the lights.  Plus there is a house in a town about 15 minutes away that have a huge amount of decorations up, that are timed to Christmas music.  For that…

  • Autumn wreath

    I saw a pattern on Pinterest for a Christmas wreath and I thought I could make a fall wreath too.  When I looked for the items she used to make the wreath, I didn’t like it at all, so I created my own version of the project.  😀 I found some bulky yarn in fall colors.  I crocheted a length from each other, simple double crochet.  I then braided it, glued it on some cardboard and added some fall foliage.  I don’t think its bad for my first try.  What do you think? I plan on making a Christmas one too.  Its my first time doing projects like this, but…
