• Sites I like to read

I’ve been looking to make some changes, not only the look of this site, but also how I use it.  I wrote briefly about working with different social media sites and Annie Kate from Tea Time with Annie Kate suggested a site to look up, by Amy Lynn Andrews.  The minute I got on that site, I knew I was going to get a lot of info from there, and I was right.  I’m still gleaning lots of information, thanks for the suggestion Annie Kate!  😀 One of the things Amy suggests is a site called Pocket to bookmark articles you want to read later.  Between reading a lot on…

  • End of Homeschooling

End of homeschooling equals the beginning of learning.  That’s what I’ve been thinking lately, that the end of our homeschool journey has been the beginning of my learning journey.  I’ve always enjoyed learning new things, though I didn’t really like school.  Once I graduated my desire for learning grew, and I wanted to take some college courses.  The change was, I wasn’t being forced to go to school and learn things that really didn’t interest me.  With college courses, I got to pick what I wanted to learn, and it was my choice to go.  I didn’t go for a 4 year degree, but did take courses for what I…

  • Autumn wreath

I saw a pattern on Pinterest for a Christmas wreath and I thought I could make a fall wreath too.  When I looked for the items she used to make the wreath, I didn’t like it at all, so I created my own version of the project.  😀 I found some bulky yarn in fall colors.  I crocheted a length from each other, simple double crochet.  I then braided it, glued it on some cardboard and added some fall foliage.  I don’t think its bad for my first try.  What do you think? I plan on making a Christmas one too.  Its my first time doing projects like this, but…

  • My plants are growing!

I’ve never had plants around the house, though I’ve always tried.  I definitely don’t have a green thumb, and I’ve never been able to keep any plants alive.  But last year I read about how good they are to have in the house, and I really wanted to get some and try not to kill them.  🙂 I found that spider plants and aloe plants were ‘supposed’ to be easy to grow and they were very pretty looking.  I was on the hunt.  I looked at a lot of different nursery’s and stores, and couldn’t find them.  Finally, Paul and I found them at a local store, well we at…

  • A very crafty week ahead

Yep, that’s what I have come up, a very crafty week.  My mom, sister and I are going to a scrapbooking conference this weekend.  Though we like scrapbooking, it’s not one of our favorite crafts.  But this conference has classes for other crafts besides just scrapbooking.  But mainly it’s a time for us three to get together for a weekend of fun.  We’ll be staying at the hotel where the conference is, learning some new crafts, having 2 whole days of crafting and of course, lots of eating.  🙂 We’ll be meeting for lunch on Thursday, then driving the hour drive to the town the conference is in.  Then we’ll…
