• Is Working From Home for Me_

Is working from home for me?

Lots of people want to work from home, but have you ever asked yourself, ‘Is working from home for me?’ In my last post, I talked about how I began working from home and I do love working from home. Working from home is something I had wanted to do since our kids were young.  I’ve always liked working and keeping busy, and since I was a stay at home mom, trying to find some work to do from home seemed logical. I tried to put together a lot of work from home jobs, but not many panned out for a long time. Right before I started working at HSB…

    Do you work from home?

I have been a work at home wife and mother for 7 years.  My work from home journey started back in November 2011, and it started in a very unusual way. In September 2003 we moved from Illinois, where I had a huge homeschool support group, to a small town in Idaho, with hardly any support at all. Around 2005 I found a homeschooling blogging site called HomeschoolBlogger.com, and a friend of mine encouraged me to join to make some more homeschool friends.  Unbeknownst to me at the time, that one decision would eventually make it possible for me to do what I love while working from home. • Sites I like to read

I’ve been looking to make some changes, not only the look of this site, but also how I use it.  I wrote briefly about working with different social media sites and Annie Kate from Tea Time with Annie Kate suggested a site to look up, by Amy Lynn Andrews.  The minute I got on that site, I knew I was going to get a lot of info from there, and I was right.  I’m still gleaning lots of information, thanks for the suggestion Annie Kate!  😀 One of the things Amy suggests is a site called Pocket to bookmark articles you want to read later.  Between reading a lot on…

  • Starting out 2016

As I’m looking at the start of 2016, and the ending of 2015 (ok all of 2015) I just realize more and more how truly blessed I am.  I was looking through pictures to share, going back a few months trying to find some non-snow pictures, and looking at them reminds me of my many blessings. First of course is my family.  I truly don’t know what I did to deserve the family the Lord gave me, but I am blessed He did.  My husband is truly the perfect fit for me, and my children are just such a blessing to have around.  I know in this coming year there…

  • Things are flowing right along

It’s been a good week so far.  The kids did a half day lessons on Monday for Presidents day.  We school 4 days a week, so we don’t take lots of one day holidays, but we gave them the choice this time.  But they would have to double up their work Thursday – Saturday.  So they decided to do a couple of subjects on Monday, so it wasn’t a full day Monday, yet they won’t have to double up too much the other days.  It worked out perfectly.  Today & tomorrow are our days off, and it’s nice to relax.  I’ve been in sweat pants curled up on the couch…
