Paul’s birthday

My hubby had his birthday on Thursday. It was a simple time, just like he wanted. He opened up his gifts early and enjoyed everything he received. Then we went out for his birthday lunch to the Olive Garden (his pick) and ate way more than we should have. 😉 He wanted me to make just a simple white cake with chocolate frosting, no fancy decorations.

It really was a simple cake, but it’s what he wanted. And if you look close the 4 candle was dropped and I had to ‘glue’ it back together with some frosting. I didn’t realize it was broken until we were getting ready to light the candles. 🙁 Oh well, he enjoyed it all anyway.

He went back to work on Friday and the kids and I have been enjoying some nice relaxing days. After all the rushing of the holidays, getting things baked, cooked and ready for parties. Gifts wrapped and then when the holidays were over, getting everything put away. It’s been nice to have some lazy days to be able to listen to my audio book and crochet and cross stitch. Which is exactly what I’ll be doing today too. 😉 Then it’s getting ready for New Year’s Eve with friends and for our ‘normal’ routine to start up on the 2nd. I will enjoy these lazy days while I can. 😀

  1. Happy birthday wishes to your husband. We too like to keep things simple and relaxing; keeps the stress out of things. Enjoy your crafting time. Heather

  2. I like those restful days too. Just doing what really relaxes you and lets you rest. The Cake looked delicious to me. I’m glad he had the kind of birthday he wanted. I’m enjoying no meetings and doing easy things all the way to Wednesday. We usually have a very quiet New Years Eve, and we like it that way. Love

  3. Happy Birthday to Paul! Sounds like a great celebration – that’s how Jeff & I like our birthdays to pass too, simple & quiet. Enjoy your relaxing break. I still have Anna’s Sweet 16 party to plan & implement, but after that, I can relax in our normal routine for a while. Yeah!
