• Christmas Blizzard 2016

We had a great Christmas weekend.  We went to an annual Christmas party at a friends house, which was a blast.  This was their 11th annual party, it just isn’t Christmas until we go.  🙂  We had our close friends over on Christmas eve to celebrate together, like we do most years.  It was fun and a great time.  By the time they were heading home that night, it had started snowing.  On Christmas day we woke up to a very white Christmas, but still had a blessed morning, opening up gifts, enjoying a breakfast casserole I put together the night before, and calling our parents to wish them a…

  • Blog photos

I don’t have much to write about today, just a question really.  For my fellow bloggers out there, do you write blogs with out photos anymore? When blogs first started it seemed like it was more about writing than about photos.  We would add some photos here and there, but mainly we wrote about a specific subject.  I find lately that as I’m thinking about writing a blog post, if I don’t have a specific photo or photos to share, I don’t write a post.  It’s like my post won’t be read if there are no photos.  Which I guess now a days is probably true.  But when I’m slacking…

We went to our towns Parade of Lights this past weekend.  I didn’t bring my good camera, but tried to get a few photos with my cell phone.  🙁  That didn’t work out the best, but I did get one half way decent photo.  We hope to make carnival of lights later in December.  It’s a big park in our town that has lots of metal decorations with Christmas lights on them.  You drive through the park looking at all the lights.  Plus there is a house in a town about 15 minutes away that have a huge amount of decorations up, that are timed to Christmas music.  For that…

  • Thanksgiving 2016

We had a great Thanksgiving this year.  I cooked the turkey and baked pumpkin pie on Wednesday.  Sarah baked apple crisp at her house, then came over and spent the night Wednesday night.  We all got up Thursday morning and watched the parade.  It’s one of our most favorite Thanksgiving traditions.  We also had some baked oatmeal for breakfast and just enjoyed lounging around together. By early afternoon Paul and I had the dressing put together, Sarah and I had mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes ready to serve, and the turkey had warmed up nicely in the oven.  All the food was great, and we enjoyed our time together, taking…
