• Crafting in 2017

I have been thinking about what crafts I want to do in 2017.  I made some doilies for Paul’s mom and my parents gifts for Christmas.  They were lots of fun to make, but they seem like they will be pretty big when they are done.  I’m using this pattern here, and I only finished it half way because it was already the size I wanted.  But I think this year I’m going to try and make at least one full size.  But it does seem pretty big full sized, guess we’ll just see how it goes.  🙂 I plan on getting out more and take more outdoor photos.  Right…

  • Hanging out with friends

We moved to Idaho from Illinois over 12 years ago.  It’s always hard to leave family and friends but we knew then it was what we wanted to do.  One of my greatest worries was making friends.  In Illinois, where I had pretty much grown up, I had quite a few friends.  Some closer than others, but going to the same church for so long, living in the same area etc… you tend to make some close friends.  I just wondered how it would all be after the move. The Lord has blessed me with friends out here, some way closer than others.  I have one friend, the first I…

  • Photo fun

As I wrote about in another post, I’m trying to get out and do more FUN things.  One of those fun things is pulling out my camera more often.  I will admit, I’ve started taking more photos with my smart phone, which isn’t all that ‘bad’ but not a habit I really want to get in to.  I have a beautiful Nikon that my husband bought me a few years back and I really want to make sure I’m using it as much as possible. Its Paul who has helped me get back into the swing of using it.  He came home the other night and had barely walked in…

  • What do you do for fun?

Have you ever asked yourself that question?  What do you do for fun? I have to be honest, I haven’t asked myself that question, purposely and seriously ask myself that, for so long, maybe never.  I’ve thought it, you know with things like ‘This is one of my hobbies.’  ‘Yes, I like to crochet.’  ‘I’m trying to learn photography.’  things like that.  But not that specific question. Then last week I was chatting with a new friend on Facebook.  A woman I become friends with from an online bible study group I was a part of.  We were just chatting back and forth getting to know each other a little…

  • Creative in 2016

There are few different things I want to work on this year, and being more creative in 2016 is one of them.  I’m learning a new way of knitting, I have a class to learn tatting, I want to cross stitch more and work my photography. Do you like taking taking classes for learning new crafts?  I’ve joined Craftsy and I am already taking their Continental knitting class, and I have their Tatting class waiting for me.  But I’ve also found some free, online classes for my photography.  I much prefer free.  😀  I want to start doing more things like this to relax, decompress and just rest. Right now,…
