Well, I’ve written quite a bit today, and I find it is slowly getting easier and easier. I write about recipes the easiest right now. I know they are not big and lengthy, but they are what I like doing, and it’s something I’m familiar with. So today I will share some simple recipes.
My chocolate chip cookie recipe, my brownie recipe and my peanut butter cups recipe. I wrote a different version of my chocolate chip cookie recipe here.
I did a lot of reading today. Trying to learn about getting your writing picked up on web searches, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and other things. One of the best things I learned today was to write what you like to write about the best. That’s what I’ve decided to do. Yes, I want to make money from my writings, but I also want to write about what I like the most, and what I have fun with.
I also learned that I need to be more patient with expecting to make money. I’ve only been writing a week, and I have 9 articles written. Some in depth, some quick, and I’m sure some that could be improved. But it can take anywhere from 6-9 months for an article to get fully populated and easily picked up by web searches. Which means it can take 6-9 months before I start seeing any kind of payment. Yes, it can be quicker, depending on lots of different variables, but that’s a good estimate. But what I learned with that is don’t get discouraged and stop writing in that time because it’s just going to take longer when you start writing again. So just keep writing and writing. Writing in depth articles, quick recipes, and things about daily life. Just keep writing and eventually your articles will be making it around the web. And in the mean time, just have fun. That’s what I learned today. And this is what I baked today. I needed a picture for my recipe and what else could I do but make some brownies? It is my job after all.
