Well I’ve been on this ‘working from home’ journey for a whole 5 day, and I will admit I am a bit tired. But it’s all been good. I’ve done a lot of foundation work, and I have a lot of sites and things set up. Though that was a lot of work, it feels good to have it done. I have even sent out an email to some of my family and friends about this new adventure I’m on, and since it’s late, and I have a few more things to do tonight, I’m going to copy and paste the email here. For those of you who already received this information, sorry about the repeat. For others who don’t know the whole journey I’m on, please read on.
Hi everyone,
I’m sending this to a group of my family and friends to let you know of a new adventure I’m embarking on and asking for a small favor (no I’m not asking you to buy anything). I would like to try my hand at doing some work from home online. I am not going for a get rich quick scheme, and I know this is going to take time to build up, but I am really going to give it a try. So what is it I’m doing, well I’ve started writing articles, I’m designing merchandise and I’m an affiliate with a couple of different companies. Let me explain each one real quick.
The first thing I’ve set up, and by far the one I’m having the most fun with, is writing articles for a website called Squidoo. It is a fun site, and I’ve already met some fun people there. I have one dear friend who also writes there. You can see my articles here:
I’m writing articles on another site, HubPages, though I haven’t published any yet. But you can go here to see when I do publish some.
I’ve have a small ‘store front’ on Zazzle. I design different items to sell. Not sure if I’m much of a designer, but I’ll keep at it for a while. You can see my store by going here:
I am an Amazon Affiliate and I have a small store. You can search the categories I have in my store or click on the ‘Powered by Amazon.com’ link and search the whole Amazon site.
Or click on this link and anything you purchase through Amazon I’ll get a commission.
I am also an AbeBooks Affiliate. If you want to buy anything from Abe Books, if you click through this link first, I will get a commission.
So what is it I need help with? Well first, if you ever plan on buying anything from Amazon and/or AbeBooks, if you could please go to their site through my link, I will get a commission for everything you buy. All you have to do is click on the link, then save the link in your favorites or bookmarks. And whenever you what to buy something on that site, you have my link handy.
I would also like to ask if you would please read my Squidoo articles once in a while. There will be advertisements on those pages, but you don’t need to buy anything for me to make money (unless you want to lol). Just by going and reading my articles when they are published will help me a lot. It shows that people are reading my pages, and I get bumped up on their ratings scale, and I make some money.
I know what you are thinking, it’s to much of a bother to keep trying to remember what sites to go to. Well I have a solution for that (I bet you knew I was going to say that). I have a blog where I will be posting links when I write an article or update my store. So besides saving the links to Amazon and AbeBooks (for when you are shopping), I think the easiest way to know when I’ve updated things is by reading my blog. You can visit my blog at http://wgcreates.blogspot.com/ . If you have a blog reader, that would be the easiest way to get automatic updates of my blog. But if you don’t, on the right had side of my blog you will see the option of subscribing to my blog by email. How easy is that? All you have to do is enter your email address, and every time I update my blog you will get a notice in your inbox that it’s been updated. And then if you have time, click on the links in my blog entry and that will take you to Squidoo (or wherever else I’ve written) and you can read my articles there. I’ve tried to make it as easy as possible.
Thank you for reading this email (blog post) and for any help you can give me.
