52 Weeks of Photo Fun – Week 28

Well, as some of you already know Mommytography 365 has shut down.  Lots of women are still going to complete the year out, and I look forward to seeing all the fun pictures they come up with.  I’m going to continue posting photos every week too, but I’m going to change my focus just a bit.  As you saw with the title of this post, I’m now calling it “52 Weeks of Photo Fun” and this is week 28.  I loved Mommytography 365, and Tracy has truly inspired me to use my camera more, but I’ve always struggled with getting a photo done every day.  But I do take photos every week, so I’ve decided to change it more to a weekly challenge for me instead of daily.  And then in the future I hope to do daily.  This week I only have 4 photos to share, like I said in my last post, I’ve been so busy with VBS I didn’t take my camera out much.  But I have a party we are going to tonight that I’m going to take lots of pictures at, plus other fun things this week.  Besides just getting out more and using my camera.  I do hope even though I’m not completely following the Mommytography challenge that people will still enjoy seeing my photos.  And maybe in the future I’ll join a different photography challenge.

I love it when the moon is out while the sun is still out.  I think it’s so pretty.

I have been so blessed by a photographer friend of mine.  She gave me these lens protectors and I love them.  I use the two clear ones all the time and I’m going to try the shaded one out soon.  It changes to different degrees of darkness, I can’t wait to try it.

Paul took this photo, I think he is a great photographer.

And I couldn’t help but share this one again.  :)

Mommytography’s 365 Project Week /178-184

2011 Mommytography 365 Project

I’ve really planned on posting here more than once a week with Mommytography photos, but life has gotten in the way, which is a good thing.  I will eventually start posting more, but probably not that much until after July 15th.  I help with our VBS at our church, and it’s a huge VBS, so that is keeping me pretty busy.  Besides mini vacations, my daughter going to get her license this week and other fun family things that are keeping me busy also.  But I was blessed beyond measure this week when a friend of mine gave me a tripod for my camera.  I’m still in shock, I can’t believe she gave me a tripod.  Plus I’m borrowing a table top tripod from my mom too.  I’m really looking forward to using the tripod tomorrow and trying to photograph some fireworks.  We’ll see how I do, my first time and all.

I took some photos of our down town area, I like the look of older buildings.  Plus my crawling rose bush bloomed the other day, it looks so pretty.  I hope you enjoy my photos.

This is the tripod my friend gave me.

I don’t know tripod names, but it seems like a real nice one.

Mommytography’s 365 Project Week /171-177

2011 Mommytography 365 Project

I did get to take some pictures this weekend.  Though we didn’t go to the new town I wanted to explore we did go to two different Farmers Markets by us.  I practiced taking some outside photos with people just milling around. I always get confused on what to focus on the most, but I think they turned out ok.  I know I added 8 pictures again, but the two park pictures are actually like one.  I had to show both photos to explain the bear photo.

This is a view from our back yard using my 55mm-200mm lens.

This was at our homeschool groups local park day.  Paulie waiting for his friends to play hide & seek.

The above park is a special needs park that was built a few years back.  It is made especially for children in wheel chairs and with other special needs.  This bear sign is a ‘thank you’ for all the people who donated time and money to building the park.

This is a new area in our down town that they’ve started having a Farmers Market at. I love the cobble stone streets.

Mommytography’s 365 Project Week /164-170

2011 Mommytography 365 Project

I’m having a blast with my new camera.  I have actually taken it out of the auto mode, and I have it in Aperture-priority auto, which means I choose the aperture while the camera chooses the shutter speed.  It’s still a huge learning curve, but it’s been fun.  Here are the pictures.

Our river is very high.

Sarah took this one, I thought the focus was great.  She was standing close using the 55mm-200mm lens. I have to remember this.

I love the water in this one.

This is a beautiful hotel that overlooks our river, that was built about 2 years ago but never finished.  It’s a sad reminder of our economy.

I’m fascinated with water shots lately, not sure why.

I really can’t believe how high our river is
Ok, so I put 8 in this week, but these two are both from today.  It was Paul’s Father’s Day gifts.  :)

Mommytography’s 365 Project Week /157-163

2011 Mommytography 365 Project

This is my first Mommytography post since I came back, and I am so excited to be back.  I plan on posting on the weekends, either Saturday or Sunday, but I was on my anniversary weekend, so I didn’t have time to post until now.  These are all shots taken with my new camera, a Nikon D3000 and most are just as they came out of the camera, though some of them I did an auto adjust on with Paint Shop Pro V9.  I hope you enjoy.

Mommytography’s 365 Project

Well, I have decided to take the plunge (again).  I am signing up for the Mommytography’s 365 Project.  For those that are new to my blog I started it at the beginning of the year, but some things had changed in our lives, and I didn’t feel like I could continue posting on a regular basis, so I quit.  But I never quit taking photos, since I do love to use my camera.  But lately I’ve been feeling like I want to give this a try again.  This is both a good and bad time to try and start.  We are taking a mini staycation this coming weekend for our 17th wedding anniversary.  That’s good because I know I’ll take lots of photos, but bad because I’m not sure I’ll get to posting them this weekend, but I am going to try.
I have a Canon PowerShot A560 camera.  It’s a point and shoot, though it’s a bit of an advanced one and I have some settings I can take out of auto mode and learn to use them manually.  I am saving for a DSLR camera, hopefully a Nikon D3000 or D3100, but I don’t know when I’ll have the money saved for it.  I will post once a week like I did before, usually on Saturday or Sunday.  For those of you who might have followed me before, I’m using this, my creative blog, for the project this time.  It seems more fitting to use this blog.  This is where I write more about my creative endeavors and my photography in general.  So please add this blog to your bookmarks so you don’t miss my weekly Mommytography 365 posts.
