I would appreciate it if you would share this post:
On Wednesday Sarah and I baked cookies for most of the day. We made Snickerdoodles, peanut butter blossoms, eggless sugar cookies and peanut butter fudge. Sarah wasn’t feeling the best, and by the end was just sitting at the table talking with me and putting the kisses on the blossoms. But it was still a great time, and one of the things we really enjoy doing during the holiday season. And if you look closely, you can see my boom box, we had Christmas music playing in the background.
This year we tried a new recipe, eggless sugar cookies. They were very quick and easy to mix together. Rolling them out was a little tricky, my dough seemed a bit dry, but once they rolled out, they were fine. As you can see we cut some pretty shapes.
But this is the one reason I don’t do cut out cookies too much, you really need to frost them for them to look decent, and by the time they cooled down, I had lost all desire to frost anything. 🙁
So there they sit, in our cookie tins, with no frosting. We are still eating them, of course, but I don’t think they will get frosted this year. I’m thinking the easiest thing is to skip the frosting, make some homemade chocolate dip, and just dip the cookies in there. Yep, that might just be a new tradition for us. 😉

Oh, they look so good! And who cares if they are iced…just tell yourself that you’ve been reducing your family’s sugar intake. 😉
Congratulations on your Cricut machine. I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful time with it.
Sounds like a fun day of cooking with your daughter. I hope she is feeling better soon. I’m hoping to do some more baking later today. Have a great day. Heather
Those look yummy! We never frost our cut out cookies, and I agree they do look kind of sad, but my husband actually prefers no frosting!!
