I would appreciate it if you would share this post:
But now I’m on to winter reading. 🙂
Our library has a great reading program every year. They have a children’s reading program and an adult reading program. For the adult program, for every book you read you would get a book ticket, and every week you visited the library you got a weekly ticket. Each week the book tickets were drawn for a weekly prize, like books, dvds, t-shirts etc… Then if you won the weekly ticket drawing you won a gift certificate to a local restaurant. Out of the 10 weeks of the program I won a book and a t-shirt! I really wanted to win the gift certificate, but that never happened. Though I did find out from the main librarian she was a bit behind on those drawings, so I guess I still have a chance.
I usually try to join the adult reading program, though this summer I read way more books than I ever have before. I read a total of 36 books this summer! That by far is my all time high. It’s been a great time of reading, whether its relaxing out in the sun reading a book or listening to audio books while crafting, cooking or cleaning.
I have my favorite authors, but I did read some new ones too. My all time favorite author is Lori Wick but I like a lot of other authors too. Tracie Peterson, Dani Pettrey (she has a great 4, soon to be 5, part series), Colleen Coble (love her Lighthouse Keepers series), Irene Hannon, Robin Lee Hatcher. Plus many new ones, Shelly Grey (loved her Texas Heroes series), Melissa Jagears, Mary Anderson, Delia Parr and Karen Witemeyer to name a few.
Obviously I do have more time during the summer to read than than fall and winter (with homeschooling, work etc…) but I do enjoy reading during those months too. It’s nice to curl up on the couch with a good book while it’s snowing outside. Though it hasn’t been snowing, it has been chilly, and I’ve already enjoyed curling up with a good book. I’ve got my full list of books I’ve read on my Goodreads account if you want to see it.
So what about you? Are you a reader? Did you have a good time of summer reading? What is your favorite authors? I always like to learn of new books and authors.. 🙂

I love reading too–as you know!!–but have not been much in the mood for fiction lately. Life goes in stages that way, I guess. I’ve read a lot of interesting nonfiction, though, and some of the books have been great, although others have such negative elements I’m not even sure I want to review them.
Have a great weekend!
Have you read anything by Sandra Bryd?
No, I haven’t. Is she a good author? What does she usually write about?
I met Sandra when our hubbies were in Seminary in Portland and she was a book editor. Now she writes contemporary inspirational romance and historical romance: https://www.amazon.com/Sandra-Byrd/e/B000API7YG/ref=sr_tc_2_0?qid=1411154195&sr=1-2-ent A couple of other authors from that time of my life are Francine Rivers (loved “Scarlet Thread”) and Robin Jones Gunn Sisterchicks series.
