4th of July fireworks

Well I’m finally home and have a day where I can sort, edit and upload my pictures from the 4th of July.  I really want to share all my fireworks photos here, but I don’t think that would be best.  I don’t want to make my site slow to load on people’s computers, so if you want to see all my fireworks photos you can see them on my Flickr page.  Here are the ones I liked the best.  Please remember, this is my first attempt at shooting fireworks with my DSLR.  I took Tracy’s hints about taking fireworks photos, set my tripod, turned my camera up toward the air and pressed the button not knowing what I was shooting.  So for primarily shooting blind (with the fireworks in the air) I thought they turned out pretty good.

These fireworks are all from my nephew Danny’s show.  They were at our old house, and I was really close to them.  Maybe too close for good shots.

This is my absolute favorite, once in a lifetime shot.  I didn’t try to get this, but so glad I did.

These are the town’s fireworks display.  I didn’t have time to put my long lens on, so I couldn’t get as close as I wanted.
