I would appreciate it if you would share this post:
I haven’t done a rambling post in a while so I thought I would today. 😉
I’ve been on the antibiotic for my UTI for about a week, and I’m feeling pretty good. The only thing that I’m noticing is that I’ve slowed down on the amount of water I am drinking, and things aren’t getting flushed like they should be. I’m working hard today on uping my water intake. I can still get a bit run down if I over work myself too much, but it’s not too bad. I just need to learn to pace myself, which honestly I haven’t been doing too well this week, and don’t really have a down day until Friday.
I cleaned, did laundry and went grocery shopping yesterday. I don’t usually like to clean and shop on the same day, but some weeks it just has to happen. That did wear me out a bit and all I did, after getting home, was sit and read a book. Today I spent the morning in the kitchen making cauliflower soup, hummus, bread and some hard boiled eggs for salads this week. I’m feeling a bit tired right now, but I am so behind on my online stuff that I just have to do some work. I have to take Paulie for his yearly eye exam later today and then we are going to a home group with our new church tonight. Yep, I’ll be sleeping pretty good tonight. Tomorrow is busy, but with fun things. I get together in the morning with a friend that I haven’t seen in ages, and then in the afternoon I have bible study with another friend. Those are nice, fun, relaxing things. But I do need to make sure I rest when I need to and make sure this infection gets thoroughly kicked out of my body.
We are excited about tonight. The new church we are attending is starting a new home group tonight doing a book study on the book Soul Detox. I haven’t read it yet, but it seems like an interesting book. Plus I like the fellowship of home groups. Sarah also starts her first job tonight! Yep, Sarah has filled out her W4 and starts her first real job. She will be the child care provider on Wednesday nights for this home group. I’m so excited for her. She is really starting to work more and more with the daycare with our new church, and I’m so happy for her. When she said she would help out with Wednesday nights, she didn’t realize it was an actual job, until they gave her the paperwork to fill out.
Plus, since she’s been helping at the daycare, they said she could pray about actually working there, instead of just volunteering. She’s not sure about that yet, she will pray about it. But since she wasn’t sure if she was going to have a summer job, and really wasn’t sure what she wanted to do, this job that just landed in her lap is a blessing.
We finally had a fire in our fire pit before our temperatures dropped.
On Monday we had temps in the 90’s, but Tuesday we had temps in the 60’s. Goodness it got cold again fast. We couldn’t cool off on Monday, then on Tuesday we couldn’t really warm up. I don’t like it when the weather does this. Plus the winds, on my goodness. Monday night around midnight the winds were so severe, and it kicked up such a dust storm that the moon was yellowish in color. We had to close our windows so no dust would come in. Now the storms are passed, but I just want some warm weather again.
Next week Paul and I will be celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary!! We don’t know what we will do yet, since we aren’t sure what days his weekend will be. But we are hoping to have the kids spend a couple of nights with my parents so we can spend some time alone at home. We’re just hoping his days off won’t be around Wednesday, since that’s the night Sarah works. We’ll find out this Friday.
We went to our homeschool groups graduation picnic this past Sunday, and it was fun. The kids received their yearly completion certificates, and had fun with their friends. Plus I got a chance to get caught up with lots of friends that I haven’t seen in a while. Now I really feel like school is over for the year, and we are really enjoying the beginning of our summer break. I’ve been busy with crocheting, reading, working online and working with some online changes for our homeschool group (I run their email and websites). Plus we’ll start helping out with the VBS at our old church. We’ve helped every year for about 4 years now, and my friend still wants us to help, even though we don’t go there anymore. The kids and I really enjoy it, so we will do it. That will be in July, but the preparations start this month.
I guess that’s a good wrap up for now, more rambling than I planned on, but it’s nice to just ramble on my blog sometimes. So what are your summer plans this year? Are you homeschoolers schooling through the summer or taking off? Do you have big vacation plans? I would love to hear what you are doing this summer.

I hope you continue to get stronger. Sounds like you are doing a good job knowing when to slow down, when you are able. I don’t like being that busy either, although sometimes is just is unavoidable. Lovely pictures! Our homemade fire pit didn’t work out so well. But I do enjoy fires when we camp.
We still have June to finish before our summer starts. I look at you guys who are already done for the year with a bit of envy. But public schools here don’t get out until the end of June either.
Our July will be busy—two weeks of swim lessons for the kids, and then Belle will help with the community VBS this year. I’ll be busy trying to do organization things around the house, taking care of the garden, and hopefully lesson planning for next year. We take a couple of weeks vacation in October usually, so we try to start in August. it might be mid-August this year.
Good rambling. You sound as busy as ever. Real happy for Sarah. She will do great. Like that fire pit. I’m with you on warmer weather. This is to much of a change to quickly. But it will warm up again, I think next week. Talk to you soon. Love
Sounds like you’ve been super busy. Congratulations to you and your husband on your 18th; many wishes for a blessed day and many more happy years to come. Hope you are feeling 100% soon. Take care…Heather
