Birthdays and vacation

I wanted to jump on real quick and let you all know we are having a great vacation.  We decided to just do some fun, different things locally and some days do nothing but stay at home and relax.  Today we are going for a drive then going bowling in another town.  We figured we’d check out a new bowling alley.  We went to the movies last night and we have some more fun day plans throughout the week.

One thing that I’m really excited about is I’m going to meet my first blog friend in person next Monday!!!  She is someone I met when I first started blogging about 5 years ago.  She has since started a private blog, so I won’t be posting names, links or pictures of them.  But we are so excited to meet them.  They will be coming in Monday night and parking their camper out front of our house.  We’ll meet for a bit then, depending on what time they pull in.  Then we’ll all spend the day together Tuesday, and they’ll leave Wednesday morning.  They are a sweet family, and I’m so blessed to have gotten to know them these past years.  And I’m so happy that their vacation is the same time as ours.  It makes it so much easier to hang out with them.

We also celebrated my birthday last Saturday, the 20th.  Paul didn’t ask for it off, it was more important to us for him to have Sarah’s birthday off, so he just asked for her day off (which he got).  But the Lord is so awesome, because when he got his schedule he had my birthday off too.  His boss had no idea it was my birthday, it’s just how the schedule was written.  I love how the Lord works like that.  My friend had us over for dinner on Friday night, and I have to say, it’s the first time ever that a friend has given me a birthday dinner.  It was the best time I’ve had in a long time.  We have known this family for about four years, but the Lord has really been bringing us all closer this past year or so.  She made us a lovely pasta dinner and made me a homemade New York style cheese cake.  Oh my goodness, I’ve never had a homemade one before, it was so delicious.  Plus she got me a camera book that I really wanted.  It has some beautiful pictures in it, and some great lessons on learning so many different things about photography.  It was truly a blessed evening.

Then on Saturday my family gave me some nice gifts then took me out to the Sizzler.  Oh what a yummy steak I had.  We did some shopping, which was a total blast then watched a movie they bought me.  It was really a fun family day and I’m so thankful Paul had it off.  Here are some pictures from my day.
