Homeschool Mother’s Journal ~ 2/9

In my life this week…It was a good week.  School and work went real smooth, so that always makes things nice.  We did have our bathtub ripped out, it was cracked and leaking.  But our landlord did a quick job of getting it out.  Now we just wait until Wednesday for the new one to be installed.  So glad we still have our shower in the master bath.  🙂  The other thing that was nice this week is my husbands schedule is back to a more normal schedule.  He was moved to a starting time of 5:00am for a trial period.  If it was starting at 5:00am all the time, we could have worked with it, but one day he would start at 5:00am and the next day start at 1:30pm.  It was just so crazy and hard on all of us.  Finally he knew we couldn’t keep doing it, plus his boss wanted him back on afternoons because he’s a good closer (afternoon shift).  Though we would much prefer him on morning shifts instead of afternoons, it’s nice having a regular schedule again.  And no more 5:00ams.

In our homeschool this week…With it just Paulie now, our homeschool days are pretty easy.  Sarah even helps out a lot.  She will help him with math and helps me grade his work.  So I’m down to just one student, and I’ve picked up a teacher’s helper.  It doesn’t get much easier than that.  lol

Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…It’s great to allow your older children to help with the younger children, or school in general.  It helps them to learn the ins and outs of homeschooling, and not just the work they do, but running it.  And it helps us parents.  🙂

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…Not going anywhere this week, but I’m feeling like a trip out to my parents house for a day or so is going to happen soon.  My sister was staying with my parent while her house was getting remodeled, but now she’s back home and mom and dad’s house is free.  So mom, get ready, maybe in a couple of week’s maybe we can set up a time to visit.  😀

My favorite thing this past week was…Going shopping with Paul for a new living room lamp and bath towels.  It’s the little things in life that are the most fun sometimes.  Honestly, any time spent out with my husband is always one of my favorite things.  He’s  my best friend and I love going out with him.

My kiddos favorite thing this past week was…Hanging out with friends and going to the movies with their friends Friday night.  Brother and sister have the same group of friends, so lots of times they all go out together.  It’s fun to see them hang out together and really enjoy themselves.

Things I’m working on…Right now work keeps me the busiest.  I have started a new cross stitch project, I’ll show pictures on my craft blog of it.  It’s simple but fun.  I listen to an audio book my son got me for Christmas while I work on it.

I’m cooking…Not cooking as much as I would like to, but getting things done all the same.  Paul is going to start cooking more too.  He really does enjoy it and it will help me too.  Between my job and homeschooling Paulie, this will help a lot.  Plus like I said, he likes it and it’s something fun for him to do to decompress from work.

I’m grateful for…Family.  My husband and kids, especially watching my kids grow into adults.  And living near my parents and sister, it’s great to be able to see them easily.

I’m praying for…Lots of friends who are dealing with medical issues right now.

Something I am ogling or have my eye on…I’m really starting to feel like I would like us to buy a house.  But I don’t know that it’s what the Lord has for us this year.  Some changes are happening with our finances this year, so I don’t know that we can afford one.  But it sure would be nice to some day.

A photo, video, link, or quote to share (silly, serious or both!)…Bathroom tub demolition.  It actually went pretty quick and easy for our landlord.
