This, that and other things

Hmmm, I’m trying to decide what I should write about, and I’m just not sure. So I guess I’ll go through the ‘normal’ things, and see if something interesting pops out.
Lessons are going good. Paulie is struggling a bit with his new language arts program, but I think it will go well. Truthfully, I think it’s just that we are expecting a bit more from him, and he doesn’t like that. He doesn’t want to be asked to do anything that requires extra work. But once he realizes its what we expect, and we won’t let him slide, he usually buckles down and does better. So we’ll give it time and see what happens. Sarah is doing well with her school work. She gets better grades than I ever got in school, that’s for sure.

I seem to have been swamped lately, though I can’t make a list of what I’ve done. Do any of you have that issue? Seriously, I am always busy with ‘things’ but not always things I can list. Things like helping the kids, updating something, picking up something, running somewhere (just real quick) etc… Then Paul calls and says “What have you been doing?”, and I can’t seem to answer. He just laughs at it, but at times I really feel like that.

So lets see what I have gotten done. We have started attending a homeschool swim time at our local indoor pool the 1st and 3rd Friday’s. That’s also the day I have woman’s bible study in the morning, so the day gets pretty crazy.

I’ve been working with my Wii Fit Plus a lot lately, and have really noticed a difference in the strength of my legs. I haven’t really lost any weight (that’s more because of my eating habits, than lack of exercise), but I am really surprised at how much strength has happened. And I think I’m getting more balanced too, at least that’s what the Wii says. The kids are really enjoying the Wii Fit Plus too, and it’s been good in the cold winter days we’ve had. But thankfully spring days are slowly coming here and there. We got near 50 last week, and we will again sometime next week, ‘they’ say.

My mom, sis and niece are coming out tomorrow (Friday) and we’ll be spending the day together. Shopping, lunch, just spending time together. I am really looking forward to it. Then next weekend we’ll be going out and spending the weekend at my parents. I’m hoping that the weather works for us. We haven’t been out that way in months, it will be fun. We want to go hiking this weekend, but not sure the weather will cooperate for us. Thankfully, it will be great tomorrow, but Saturday, who knows. But hopefully we’ll get up in the mountains and get some good pictures.

I’ve been scrapbooking lately, and really having fun with it. My cousin, who lives in NH, is really helping me. We’ve been emailing back and forth about it, and she’s even sent me some pics of her scrapbooks. I’ve gotten some great ideas, and I’m really learning to have some fun with it. I also want to do some more bead work. I haven’t picked it up lately, I think mainly because I can’t picture jewelry to make. But I do have a desire to make beaded bookmarks and non-jewelry things like that. I was going to try and make one today, but time has slipped away. So instead I’m watching the movie Lake House, and writing a blog post. Then I think I’ll do some cross-stitch while finishing the movie.

So that’s what I’ve been up to lately. I’ll try to have a more interesting post in a few days. Maybe some pictures of our hiking or something else. Thanks, as always, for stopping by and reading my blog. It means a lot to me. God Bless.
