What a blessed Christmas

I have been truly blessed this Christmas.  We had a great night with our friends on Christmas Eve.  We enjoyed a ham dinner together, exchanged gifts and watched the movie A Christmas Story. We have gotten together with this family for holidays for the past 4 or 5 years, and it’s always so much fun. My friend really listened to me talk months ago when I said I wanted to get a Whirley Pop popcorn maker. To my surprise what did I open on Christmas Eve? Yep a Whirley Pop!

I was so surprised since I never really mentioned it as a gift thought, just mentioned it during normal conversation. She is truly a dear sweet friend and sister in the Lord. I’m so blessed that the Lord has brought our families together.

We did get some more snow on Christmas Eve, so we had a very pretty white Christmas. We all woke up Christmas morning around the same time, I got our breakfast egg casserole in the oven and we started with our gifts. It was such a fun time, having Christmas music on in the background, taking our time opening the gifts, enjoying eggnog and being blessed when we saw what we got. 🙂 We were all still in our jammies, so no pictures on here, but this is what I got.

Most of it are things that will help me with my card making/cricut crafts. The two biggest gifts being a scoring board and new paper cutter.

I’ve already been playing with both of them today and they make card making soooo much easier (and fun 😉 ). We had a nice pot roast and mashed potato dinner this afternoon and are getting ready to enjoy some leftovers and dessert. Sarah got to watch her Little House DVD’s (it’s her favorite show, and she’s collecting all the seasons), and the boys have been taking turns playing on Xbox with the games and books they got.

Not much else planned for this evening, except to continue to enjoy our new gifts and being together. And I’m sure some pop corn will be eaten very soon. 😀  Paul has the next two days off, and the 27th is his birthday, so lots more fun this week is planned.  I hope you all had a blessed Christmas day and enjoyed your time with family and friends.

  1. Sounds like your Christmas Eve and Christmas Day was awesome. I’m so happy for you. And you sure got gifts you wanted and needed.. I’m definitely going to take a day or two, as needed, to spend with you on all your learning of card making, the cricut and all the gadgets you have too. Its so good to see you interested in all that. Thanks for sharing and the pictures. Love

  2. Merry Christmas! It sounds like you had the very best time. Your life sounds like a Little House episode. I love reading your blogs. Love
