    Do you work from home?

I have been a work at home wife and mother for 7 years.  My work from home journey started back in November 2011, and it started in a very unusual way. In September 2003 we moved from Illinois, where I had a huge homeschool support group, to a small town in Idaho, with hardly any support at all. Around 2005 I found a homeschooling blogging site called HomeschoolBlogger.com, and a friend of mine encouraged me to join to make some more homeschool friends.  Unbeknownst to me at the time, that one decision would eventually make it possible for me to do what I love while working from home. • Simple Woman’s Daybook ~ 11/6

FOR Sunday 11/6 Outside my window…Beautiful blue skies, but a bit chilly, though not as cold as it should be.  We are averaging about 10 degrees above normal right now, which is very weird.  The forecast for us this year is warmer weather, but more snow.  We do get a lot of snow sometimes, but we also get so cold at times, it doesn’t snow at all.  I would much rather warmer temps and snow, then bitter, below zero temps and no snow. I am thankful…For so many things, but today I’m going to list my job.  I’m the Director of Website Management for The OldSchoolhouse Magazine and their sister…

  • Blessed by friends and family

As I’m coming up to my 6 week mark since my surgery, I’ve been thinking a lot about the first few days after I got home.  My family and my best friend really rallied around me and took care of me.  They made sure we had food in the house, someone always with me for the first week so I didn’t have to pick anything up myself and around in case I had issues.  Plus just being with me chatting and keeping me company.  You can’t ask for better friends and family than that.  🙂  I wish I had thought to get a picture of my mom and me.  She…

  • My summer continued

Like I said in another post, I’ve had some medical issues these past months.  During the middle of May, when we were trying to get schooling done, graduation set up and Sarah settled, I found I was not only highly anemic but had very low red blood count.  I knew I was more tired for the past year or so, but I was always excusing it away.  I just need to push harder, I’m not taking care of myself enough etc…  Turns out there was a very valid reason I was so exhausted.  I had to have two iron infusions, which helped some, but then I had to have surgery…

  • Simple Woman’s Daybook ~ 11/22

FOR Sunday November 22nd   Outside my window…Dark, but clear and nice.  Earlier today it was sunny and somewhat warm around 40.  It was very nice   I am thinking…About upcoming Thanksgiving day.  We have plans to go to my parents house, but there is a possible snow storm coming in on Wednesday into Thursday which could derail our plans.  🙁   I am thankful…For so many things, a wonderful husband who works hard to provide for us, 2 beautiful children that love the Lord and others, a mom and sister who love to spend time together having fun and just being silly sometimes.  The list could go on…
