• Christmas 2015

We had such a fun, and blessed Christmas this year.  We had friends over on Christmas Eve and enjoyed a nice dinner with them.  We watched some movies, chatted and just had fun. On Christmas day, it was beautiful outside with snow on the ground and a chilly nip in the air.  We all opened our gifts and were surprised and quite happy about all of them.  Usually we make lists for each other, but this year we decided no lists.  So I was a little worried about some of the things I bought for Paul, but he enjoyed them all.  As did what we picked out for the kids. …

  • A Blessed Christmas ~ 2014

We had such a great Christmas this year.  We were able to spend Christmas Eve with friends, enjoyed some yummy snacks and watching a movie together.  Then, after we got home, before we went to bed on Christmas Eve the snow started!  We woke up to a beautiful, white Christmas. We were all so happy about that.  It’s been so brown around here lately, and any snow we did have about a week ago was long gone.  Christmas just seems more like Christmas with snow.  Every time we heard White Christmas on Pandora, we just kept saying ‘Well, hopefully we’ll have one.’  And we did!  🙂 Like I said before,…

  • A good December

It’s been a good December so far.   We are done with all our Christmas shopping, and most gifts are already wrapped and under the tree.  All the Christmas cards have been sent.  I had fun at a cookie exchange, bringing home some yummy treats.  And Paulie has worked hard and is done with school for the year!  He is quite happy about that.  🙂 I’m going to bake some more cookies this weekend.  Sarah baked cookies last week for the cookie exchange I went to, but those treats are gone already.  So it’s time to make some more.   Paul and I went Christmas meal shopping with a gift card…

  • Homeschool Mother’s Journal ~ 12/30

In my life this week…We had such a blessed Christmas. My family blessed me with so many wonderful things, mostly with craft items. 😀 We enjoyed a great Christmas Eve with dear friends. She made a wonderful turkey dinner for us including a homemade, GF cheesecake! She is such a friend, she isn’t GF but bakes that way for us a lot. She is such a blessing. Then on Christmas day we stayed home, enjoying each other and the gifts we all received. We had ham and au gratin potatoes for dinner that was lovingly prepared by all of us. Paul wanted to make sure I wasn’t in the kitchen…

  • Decorating for Christmas

We normally try to do our Christmas decorating the weekend after Thanksgiving.  Well, we used to always do it the Friday after Thanksgiving, but then with Paul’s work, we’ve changed it to the weekend after Thanksgiving, though it still is usually Friday.  This year though, with Sarah working retail, we just weren’t sure if we could get it done.  I know eventually we won’t be able to all do it together, but we really wanted to try this year. We almost did it about a week BEFORE Thanksgiving.  It was the only time that Paul and Sarah both had off.  We knew she would be working Black Friday, we just…
